Materials needed:

Yarn in two colors, in my case, it’s brown and light yellow, and a bit of pink for the bow (Kartopu Kristal).

Crochet hook No. 2, a needle for sewing the pieces, scissors.

Stuffing, in my case – polyester fiberfill.

Beads for eyes.

I also used wire for the legs, arms, and tail, but it’s optional.

Abbreviations:

sc – single crochet

ch – chain

inc – increase (2 single crochets in one stitch)

dec – decrease (skip 1 stitch or crochet 2 stitches together)

I want to warn you right away that I crochet this way: I close each row and start with a turning chain, which prevents the piece from shifting and makes it look even, especially when using different colors. At the same time, it creates a barely noticeable seam.

This toy is crocheted inside out.

So, let’s start crocheting our monkey.

Tail

1st round: 8 sc into the amigurumi ring.

2nd-36th rounds: No changes (8).

Cut the yarn, leaving a long end for sewing.

Now, sew all the parts together. First, attach the head to the body, then stuff the muzzle and attach it to the head. Next, sew on the arms, attach the legs slightly to the sides, and then embroider the fingers with brown thread.

Sew the ears in a half-circle and create a small tuft.

Create a tightening loop on the head by threading the yarn at the base of the muzzle and pulling it through the light yellow half-circle at the top. This will create two arches, tie a knot and hide the thread. Sew the eyes a bit apart, gradually pulling them closer to each other to create a small nose.

Embroider the nose with black thread and the mouth with red thread.

To make the belly button, insert the yarn where the tail is, and pass it through the entire body to the navel area, and then return, pulling it. Then attach the tail.

You can add shading to the face and ears if desired. I did this with regular shadows, around the eyes and inside the ears.

That’s it! Your monkey is ready. When using the same yarn as I did, it measures 16 cm.

Enjoy crocheting, dear friends!
