TOOLS AND MATERIALS 

Yarn Art Jeans yarn in pink (18) and white (62) colors, Alize Cotton Gold yarn in red (243) color;

Safety eyes with a diameter of 10 mm (I used half beads); 

Plastic buttons for attaching legs and decoration; 

Black sewing thread for facial features; 

Glue or glue gun; 

Thick needle for sewing parts together; 

Scissors; 

Dry pastel for shading. 

ABBREVIATIONS 

mc – magic circle; 

ch – chain stitch; 

sl st – slip stitch; 

sc – single crochet; 

hdc – half double crochet; 

dc – double crochet; 

inc – increase (two single crochets in one stitch); 

dec – decrease (single crochet two stitches together); 

blo – back loop only; 

flo – front loop only. 

The toy is crocheted in continuous spiral rounds. Do not end the round with a slip stitch and do not turn the work unless instructed otherwise. Use a marker or a different color yarn to mark the first stitch of each new round. 

The finished toy measures approximately 16 cm when using the specified materials. 

PATTERN

LEGS (2 pieces) 

Start with white yarn, stuff as you crochet. 

Rnd 1: 5 sc in mc, sl st to first sc to join (5). 

Rnd 2: Inc in each st around (10). 

Rnd 3: (Sc, inc) around (15). 

Rnd 4-5: Sc in each st around (15). 

Rnd 6: (Sc, dec) 5 times, sc in next 5 sts (10). 

Rnd 7: Sc in next 5 sts, dec 3 times, sc in last 7 sts (7). 

Switch to pink yarn. 

Rnd 8: Working in blo, sc in next 4 sts, dec 3 times, sc in last st (7). 

Rnd 9-15: Sc in each st around (7). 

Rnd 16: Dec around (3). 

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. 

Attach white yarn to the first free front loop of Round 7 and crochet the top of the foot. 

Rnd 1: Ch 1, 15 sc around, sl st to first sc to join (15). 

Rnd 2: (Ch 1, sl st) 15 times. 

Fasten off, cut yarn, weave in ends.

Fold the piece in half and join the edges by crocheting 6 sc. Fold the piece again and join the edges with 3 sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. 

TAIL 

Crochet with pink yarn. 

Attach the yarn to the body at the level of the 8th or 9th round from the center (I attached it where I changed from pink to red yarn), ch 5 + 1 for turning. 

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, sl st in last ch. 

Fasten off, weave in the ends. 

SCARF 

Crochet with white yarn. Ch 80 + 2. 

Row 1: Sc in each ch across (80). 

Fasten off, weave in the ends. Add fringes to the edges of the scarf. 

ASSEMBLY AND EMBELLISHMENT 

Sew the tail to the head between rounds 12 and 18, stuff the tail as you sew. 

Create indentations for the eyes around the tail at the level of rounds 12-13. 

Attach the safety eyes. 

Embroider eye whites with white thread. 

Embroider eyelids, eyebrows, nostrils with black thread. 

Sew the ears at the level of the 8th round. 

Shade the ears and cheeks with dry pastels. 

Sew the head to the body. 

Sew 2 plastic buttons to the body. 

Attach the legs to the body (between rounds 7 and 8) using button fastening. 

Tie the scarf around the neck.
